Many people often lament that good writing is so frustrating and hard. But you know what? Writing should be one of the least stressful of the arts! Think about it- a stage actor can’t stop a play and redeliver a botched line. Super glue only works so well for that poor sculptor who accidentally loped off a statue’s ear. And we all know what a sour note sounds like coming from musician. Writing has one powerful feature that these other arts lack- the rewrite.
Yes, rewriting can make a sleep-deprived writer as melancholy as a cowboy in some old Western ballad. And true, a story or article can never be perfect. But, you can decrease the frustration, and bring back the fun into your writing- which was probably the whole reason you took up this silly craft in the first place.
Here you’ll find weekly tips on taming writer’s block, the nuts and bolts of prose, and making writing your career. My goal is to give you some tips and some (bad) jokes that will hopefully keep you writing without stress, day after day after day.
